On Smappen, downloading a business search with more than 10,000 results in Excel format is not possible.

The download button will be grayed out, and a message will appear informing you that the download cannot be completed.

Here are a few tips to work around this limitation:

Tip 1: Modify your business search to get fewer than 10,000 results

If you have multiple keywords in your search:
You can split your search by creating one search per keyword.

If not, use the second tip: Divide your area into multiple sub-areas.

Tip 2: Divide your area into multiple sub-areas

Here, you have several options depending on the type of area.

If you have an isochrone or isodistance area:

You can create multiple areas in a ring format; For example, if you have a 1-hour area, you can create a 45-minute area and a 30-minute area and subtract them to form ring-shaped area.

To do this start from your initial point and create two new areas: a 30-minute area and a 45-minute area.
You will end up with three area like this:

Next:

• Right-click on the largest 1-hour area, select “Subtract,” and choose your intermediate 45-minute area.
• Validate the operation.
• Repeat the process from the 45-minute area to the 30-minute area.

This will give you three distinct areas:

• An area within 30 minutes.
• An area between 30 and 45 minutes.
• An area between 45 minutes and 1 hour.

You can then download the results for each of these three areas separately.

If you have an administrative territory:

You can easily recreate one or more zones within the existing area using various subdivisions:

• In the US: By States, Counties, Zip codes
• In the UK: By postcode districts, postcode sectors
